Q

Constructive plate foundry

A

When two oceanic plates move away from each other magma rises to the surface forming lava lava solidifies forming new basiltic ocean crust also forms submarine non explosive volcanoes when 2 continental plates move away from each other a Rift Valley is formed

Q

Destructive blade boundary

A

When oceanic plate and continental plate move towards each other where denser oceanic plate is subducted under lighter continental plate heat due to friction and pressure turns the descending plate into magma magma rises and erupts through the rocks the cracks of the rocks forming explosive composite volcanoes

Q

Fold mountains

A

When continental plates move towards each other sediments between those two plates are compressed forming sedimentary rocks due to pressure rocks are pushed upwards to form fold mountains

Q

Conservative blade boundary

A

Two plates slide past each other where they get locked in and friction occurs so building up of pressure occurs releasing earthquake the magnitude of earthquake can be measured using on vector scale

Q

Factors that affect the impact of the earthquake

A

Location of the epicenter
population density
maintaining communication severity of the aftershocks
cut off gas supply
availability of drinking water time and duration of the earthquake
strength of the buildings to withstand the damage
