When the revolution came into place, it sparked debates and arguments dealing with the structure of American power. America had already had problems with the British crown which they rejected.The lower class did not rise to power (page 218). The revolution expanded the ideas of liberty. The separation of church created more social space for all religions.

The founders foresee for religion in the American government and society wanted to avoid the new nation from conflicts of religion like in the past. Political leaders like Jefferson, wanted to create a separation wall to protect religion from corrupting the government

The impact of the American revolution on Native Americans was a loss for them. Even though Americans gained Independence, Jefferson believed that taking away the Native American land would be the cherry on top for their new nation. Indians used the language of the revolution to express their concerns regarding the land.
