What is a breaking news story?

The structure used for many news stories in which the most important information is placed first, and succeeding paragraphs contain increasingly less crucial information.

In a printed story, a line type that directs the reader to the page where the story is continued.

The opening sentences of a news story. The lead is often a summary of the story’s essential points; also spelled lede

In broadcasts, the identification that reporters give at the end of their report; also called a tag
