a group of scottish squatters who attempted to build in northern ireland but failed, and so came to the new world for refuge. their population was 7%
what did the scots irish settle as in the new world?
because they did not find refuge near the coast, they moved farther into the alleghenies and unoccupied territories.
what was the great wagon road?
a chain of scot-irish settlements from pennsylvania to georgia, led down the appalachians.
what were the scots irish like in nature? name 2 events that occurred as a result of their characteristics.
they were restless and had no love for any government, and they led the march of the paxton boys and the regulator movement of north carolina.
what was the regulator movement of north carolina?
insurrection or rebellion against eastern domination of the colonies. andrew jackson was among them.
what was the march of the paxton boys?
it took place in philadelphia in 1764 protesting quaker oligarchy.
