What are the main tenants of Adlerian Therapy?
Social psychology and the positive view of human nature. Social interest (sense of belonging). Feelings of inferiority can motivate people to strive for mastery & competency.
What is social interest?
A sense of identification with humanity; a feeling of belonging; an interest in the common good.
What are early recollections?
Childhood memories (before 9) of one-time events. People retain these memories as capsule summaries of their present philosophy of life. From a series of early recollections, it is possible to understand mistaken notions, present attitudes, social interests, and possible future behavior.
What is a family constellation
The social and psychological structure of the family system; includes birth order, the individual’s perception of self, sibling characteristics and ratings, and parental relationships. Each person forms his or her unique view of self, others, and life through the family constellation.

The process of gathering early memories, which involves learning to understand the goals and motivations of the client.

Analytical psychology: focuses on the role of symbolic experiences in human life
Collective unconscious: the part of the unconscious mind which is derived form ancestral memory and experience and is common to all humankind, as distinct from the individual’s unconscious.
Psychic energy: carries emotions, expressed through persona (mask)
Shadow: what is disavowed by the ego
