A halt to westward expansion
What did the British hope the Proclamation of 1763 would do?
Decrease the need for British troops to protect the colonists but the colonists were angry
What did the Sugar act say?
That officers could seize goods from accused smugglers without going to court
Why were the colonists angry about British taxation?
They were being taxed by the British government rather than by their own colonial governments, the money didn’t go to their government.
After the Boston Tea Party, what did the British do?
They knew the Colonies were about to rebel, so they sent soldiers(inexperienced) to the colonies, they stole jobs from them which caused more tension.
What was the Continental Congress?
A political group that represented Americans and challenged British Control
