what is national advertising?
reach all users of the product across the country, industrial and consumers
what is retail advertising?

what is co-op advertising?
conducted by retailer with manufacturing (or both party) money
what is trade advertising?
manufacturers directly advertising to wholesaler or retailer (ex: magazines only sent to wholesaler)
what is industrial advertising?
aimed at people and firms that use products in manufacturing other products (ex: P&G selling motors for cars)
what is consumer sales promotion?
free samples, coupons, contests, demos
what are trade sales promotions?
encourage resellers to purchase and aggressively sell a manufacturers products through sales contests, displays, and special purchase prices
what is point of purchase (POP) displays?
product is seen, floor displays, pictures, etc. lots of buyers
what are self positionings?
placement of the product in the store
what are shelf facings?
the number of individual products places besides each other on the shelf
what are premium products?
products that are incentives to user to take action like contests
what is geographic information systems?
allow sales people to view and analyze prospects on an electronic map

etiquette on the internet
