Color mode
determines how pigments combine to produce resulting colors

based on colors being absorbed as the ink hits the paper and being reflected back to your eyes- uses cyan, yellow, magenta, black
cmyk
uses red, blue, and green to mix colors
rgb
uses up to 256 shades of gray
grayscale mode
black by default used to fill color to a selection
foreground color
white by default and Is used to make gradient fills
background color
