What are the six parts of a business letter?
heading, inside address, greeting, body, closing, signature
What is an inside address?
the address of they company to which you are writing
What does the heading in a business letter do?
tells the person who receives the letter where to send the reply
Why does the address need to be on the inside?
to show who should receive the letter. Some large companies throw the envelope away
What do you write in the greeting if you do not know the name of the person you’re addressing?
sir or madam
What punctuation goes at the end of the greeting?
colon
What are two form closings you can use?
sincerely, or yours truly
What punctuation belongs after the closing?
comma
