How are volcanos formed?

When plates collide or separate cracks or vents occur in the crust, through which magma erupts. These often form cone shaped volcanoes.

Active. Volcanoes that are still erupting. Mt.etna,Mt.helens,Mt.vesuvius
Dormant. Volcanoes that have not erupted Cotopaxi Ecuador
for a long time but still could.
Extinct. Volcanoes that have not erupted Slemish mountains
since historic times. Co.Antrim.
