New world
The European name for lands in the Western Hemisphere, including, North and South America. The Americans were a “new” world for Europeans, but not for the native peoples who already lived there.
Age of exploration
A time in history when people from Europe traveled to faraway unfamiliar places, such as Africa and the Americans, in order to learn about them and make maps of them. The age of Exploration began in late 1400’s and continued through the 1500’s
Explorer
People who travel to new and unfamiliar places in order to learn what these places are like and describe them with woods, pictures and maps
Archeologists
Scientists who study human artifacts to learn about past cultures.
Ore
Rock or earth from which mental can be taken.
Chase crop
A crop that is grown in large quantities for sale to other people.
