A

When three or four corries form on the sides of a mountain top, the glaceirs slowly carve away the rock, leaving a pyramidal peak.

A

A corrie is a steep-sided hollow in which snow builds up and erodes it to become deeper.

How is a corrie formed?

A
  1. When snow compacts into ice, it first flows into the hollow.’
  2. Abrasion widens and deepens the hollow.
  3. The glacier gets big enough and flows out of the hollow,
  4. When the glacier melts, the corrie is revealed and sometimes has a lake in it called a tarn.
