A

Introduced in 2016 amended Ontario’s PHIPA in improving privacy and accountability by introducing new measures to protect patients’ personal health information.

Made breach reporting mandatory, increased transparency, doubled fines to 100000 for individuals, and 500000 for orgs, removed requirement to prosecute within 6 months of alleged offences
