Expressed powers(Delegated)
Powers of National Government that are spelled out, expressly in the Constitution.
16th Amendment: gives congress the power to levy an income tax
Implied Powers ( Delegated)
powers of the National Government that are suggested by the expressed powers in the Constitution.
( Suggested)
ex: Prohibit racial discrimination in a public setting
Inherent Powers (delegated)
Powers the constitution presumed to have given to the National Gov. Because it is the government of a sovereign state within the world of community
reserved powers
Powers the Constitution doesn’t grant to the National Government and doesn’t deny the states
EX: establishing public schools
Conduct elections
Establish local governments
Exclusive Powers
Powers exercised by the National Gov. alone
Can not be exercised by states
Concurrent Powers
Both National Gov. and States Possess and exercise
Make it possible for Federal System to Function
Ex: Establish Courts, Borrow money
