Chapter 4 Flashcards
Acute Angle
An angle that measures greater than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees.
Auxilliary Line
A line drawn in a figure to aid in a proof.
Congruent Polygons
Two polygons whose corresponding sides and angles are congruent.
Coordinate Proof
A style of proof that uses coordinate geometry and algebra.
Corollary
A theorem whose proof follows directly from another theorem.
Corresponding Angles
Angles in the same relative position in two different polygons that have the same number of angles.
Corresponding Sides
Sides in the same relative position in two different polygons that have the same number of sides.
CPCTC
“Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent,” which can be used as a justification in a proof after two triangles are proven congruent.
Equiangular Triangle
A triangle with 3 congruent angles.
Equilateral Triangle
A triangle with three congruent sides.
Exterior
A set of points outside the angle or shape.
Exterior Angle
The set of all points outside an angle.
Included Angles
The angle formed by two adjacent side of a polygon.
Included Sides
The common side of two consecutive angles of a polygon.
