What is a base?
The base is used as a factor as many things as given by the exponent.
What is a power?
A number that is expressed using an exponent
What is an exponent?
The exponent tells how many times the base is used as a factor
What is a negative exponent?
Negative exponents are the result of repeated division
What is a monomial?
An expression that is a number, a variable, or a product of numbers and/or variables
What is standard form?
A number is in standard form when it does not contain exponents. Seven hundred thirty-nine=739
What is scientific notation?
A number in scientific notation is expressed as a x 10_n, where 1 is less than or equal to 10 and n is an integer. 5,000,000=5 x 10_6
What is a square root?
One of the two equal factors of a number. The square root of 25 is 5
What is a perfect square?
Rational number whose square root is a whole number.
What is a radical sign?
The symbol used to indicate a non-negative square root
What is a cube root?
One of three equal factors of a number
What is a perfect cube?
A number that is the cube of an integer
What is an irrational number?
Any number that cannot be written as a fraction
What is a real number?
Rational + irrational numbers
What are natural numbers?
