An arete is the edge of when two corries for side by side.

A
A glacier is a large mass of ice and snow that flows across an area.

A
When three or four corries form on the sides of a mountain top, the glaceirs slowly carve away the rock, leaving a pyramidal peak.

A
A corrie is a steep-sided hollow in which snow builds up and erodes it to become deeper.

How is a corrie formed?
A
- When snow compacts into ice, it first flows into the hollow.’
- Abrasion widens and deepens the hollow.
- The glacier gets big enough and flows out of the hollow,
- When the glacier melts, the corrie is revealed and sometimes has a lake in it called a tarn.
