The European name for countries in the western hemisphere, including North and South America. The Americas were new for the Europeans but not for the natives who already lived there.
Age of Exploration
A time in history where people from Europe would travel to faraway and unfamiliar places such as, Africa and the Americas , in order to learn and make maps about them. The Age of Exploration started in the 1400s and went through the 1500s.

A crop that is grown in large quantities for sale to other people.
