This was an institution created by congress with the intention of providing indirect relief by assisting insurance companies, banks, agricultural organizations, railroads, and even state and local governments.
Bonus Army
This was an army of veterans who wanted to receive their entire bonus from the government at one time in light of the depression. Hoover’s use of the army to stop the riots was unnecessarily ruthless
Stimson Doctrine
This was a doctrine proclaimed by the US in 1932, which declared that the US would not recognize any territorial acquisitions achieved by force. It was a direct reaction to when Japan invaded Manchuria.
