Skills, such as picking up objects and eating with a spoon, are dependent on the development of the small muscles.
Cognition
Process involving thought and knowledge.

The way people change and improve their ability to think and learn throughout life
Social-Emotional Development
Development included the areas of relationships and feelings.
Sequence
A consistent step-by-step pattern that consistently follows one another, as in development.
Behaviorism
The belief that a persons behavior is determined by forces beyond his or her control.
Classical Conditioning
Learned responses to previously neutral stimulus.
Operant Conditioning
People tend to repeat behaviors that have a positive result.
