Why is the Human Development Index useful in planning development?
The Human Development Index is useful in planning development because if you know which countries lack in and what in specific they lack in, development plans are made much easier. For example, if a country is high in literacy rate, and high in living standard, but low in life expectancy, a country should invest and purchase more in hospitals and medical research. Because, if there are more hospitals and/or medical research, then it’ll be much easier for a country to have more people alive and for longer than before.
