Younger gens didn’t have the same strict religious beliefs as older gens. Young girls told stories of witchcraft, pretended to be bewitched, and falsely accused others of witchcraft. Clergy viewed witch hunts as a sign from god for village to return to strict Puritan lifestyle.

Describe William Penn’s colony, Pennsylvania

A

Originally established for Quakers to have a land where they can live according to their beliefs. People came to PA for a better life and religious freedom. Quakers believed that all people should live in peace and harmony, so they were welcoming of everyone, regardless of ethnicity or religion. One of the wealthiest American colonies.
