A
- Daghesh Lene does not affect syllabification
- Daghesh is a Forte if preceeded by a vowel
- Daghesh is a Lene if preceeded by a consonant
- If the previous word ends with a vowel a begadkephat letter Daghesh is a Forte otherwise it is a Lene at the beginning of a word

- Vocal if not preceeded by a short vowel
initial Shewa is always vocal
Shewa under a Daghesh Forte is vocal
vocal after an unaccented long vowel - Will always occur in an open syllable
- Gutturals (except Resh) cannot take Vocal Shewa
