What are the 8 points of a compass?
North North East
South South East
West. North West
East South west
How do you do 6 grid reference?
To start of with you do it just like if you were doing a 4 Grid reference but them when you rehab your square you spilt it up into squares (10x10). Then you estimate the answer, imagining the square is spilt up!
How do you measure straight line distance?
Get a piece of paper and measure between point A and B. you then mark on the piece if paper were point B was then you compare it with the scale (at the bottom of the map)
How do you measure wiggle line distance?
First of all mark all the big bends with letters, this can be done mentally. Then using a piece of paper draw a line to mark on the staring point (A) then pivot the piece of paper to B and draw a dash keep on doing this until you reach the end. Then compare with scale.
What is a symbol for a motorway
Blue line with
Straight line then dashes then straightened through it
What is the symbol for a main road?
Red line with straight line then dash then straight line through it
What is the symbol for a secondary road
Orange line
What are the symbols for a footpath?
Either a red or green dashes line
What is the symbol for a railway line?
Black line

A circle with a cross on the top
What is the symbol for a church with a tower?
A square with a cross on top

Light green rectangle with Christmas like trees on top (dark green)

Pink triangle

A red circle with 2 small rectangles on either side
