Goes up. Controls the ascending movement of Qi.

Transports and transforms water and food
What does the stomach Qi do?
Receives and decomposes food

Controls the blood and vessels
What does the lung Qi do?
Dominates inhaling and exhaling

Maintains smooth flow of Qi throughout body

Jing-Luo Qi- represents the function of the meridians and channels
What are the four pathologic states Qi can exist within the body?
Deficiency, Stagnation, Rebellious or Collapsed
What are general signs of Qi Deficiency?
Depression, exercise intolerance, general weakness, pale tongue, weak pulses (worse on right)
What are the general signs of heart Qi deficiency?
High anxiety, easily frightened, dyspnea/tachypnea, irregular pulses, chronic heart failure or other cardiac disease
What are the general signs of lung Qi deficiency?
Weak, chronic cough/asthma, constant cold signs
What are general signs of spleen Qi deficiency?
Poor appetite, diarrhea, weight loss/difficulty gaining weight, muscular atrophy, fatigue/weakness, hemorrhage, edema, prolapse anus, malabsorption/maldigestion, chronic indigestion
What are general signs of kidney Qi deficiency?
Arthritis, weakness/pain, urinary incontinence, infertility, deafness, geriatric conditions
