A

-Give citizens a say in decision making
-if you have no say in Singapore affairs or no interest in it, you Wouldn’t want to be bothered with what happens to it
-help citizens feel like they “own” Singapore

  • a system that distributes opportunities and rewards according to merit (Eg; Edusave award)
  • not based on race, religion or family background
  • “within your control” therefore more motivated to work hard
