  • thunderstorms with associated hail and lightening within 10 miles
  • flash flood warning likely to affect the base

  • hurricane or tropical storm activity within 150 miles of the MAI service area

A

In addition to the preflight inspection…

  • review the aircraft logbook for open discrepancies
  • review the record of deferred maintenance to review deferral expiration status of any open MELs and any associated flight restrictions
  • review the component change and special inspection section of the aircraft logbook for upcoming maintenance requirements coming due
  • review the entire aircraft status report for
    1. Airworthiness directives and service bulletins are current and have time remaining for the intended flight day
    2. Engine and airframe inspections, component overhauls and life limited parts have time remaining for the intended flight day
  • all inspection and maintenance “due dates have been carried forward and will not exceed the projected days flying
  • make sure complete flight next due matches
