Q

What is median? How would you calculate the location of median?

A

Midpoint in the given observations; L= n+1/2

Example: 11,12,13,14,15 ==> 5+1/2 = 3 ==> 3 is 13 therefore 13 is the median

Q

What is Mode? Give an example

A

Mode is the value that occurs most often; only good for categorical data or large interval/ratio data

  • Example: 1,7,5,9,8,7 ==> 7 is the most frequent number ==> Mode = 7
