Necessary and proper clause
Anything necessary can be used by congrees and federal law
EXAMPLE: banks
Nullification
Nullification was the states had right to nullify federal law
Dual federalism
Federal and states were equals and should be kept seperate
Police power
Laws that are not unconstitutional and promotes health, safety, and morals
Initiative
Allows voters to play legislative measures directly on the ballot
Referendum
Allows voters to reject a measure adopted by the lrgislature
Recall
Voters can elect officials out of office
Grants in aid
Grants in aid are made for giving grants to people who need education or for other needed things by the state
Categorical grants
For specific needs grants for certain things or specific things in th city difficult to achieve
Conditions of aid
Wether or not a state needs grants or aid
Mandates
An order to the state from the federal government telling them wh they must do
Waiver
Allowing an organizations to ignore a law otherwise applying to it
Federalism
Political system where national government works with the local government
