The legislative branch has congress. The House of Representatives, senates, and reps.

Supreme Court, Federal court, and state court
What’s checks and balances
It’s known as the watchdog system. That mean the 3 branches watches over each other. Each branch has certain powers to do things.
How do laws get passed
The two houses have to have a 2/3 vote then it goes to the president. The president can pass it, veto it, or pocket veto
What’s a pocket veto
It’s when the law isn’t passed during the last 10 days of Congressional Session
What happens when the president vetoes it
The law goes back to the house and both have to have 2/3 votes again. Then it is a law
What does the judicial branch do
This branch gets to decide wether the law is unconstitutional or not
What’s the constitution have
It’s 27 amendments and has bill of right ( James Madison).
What needs to happen to ratify the constitution/amendments
State legislators 3/4 (38) and state ratifying convention (38)

The role for the H.R play in impeachment
The speaker (leader of majority party in house). If the president and Vice President die the speaker is the new president

- 30 years
- Resident of state they represent
- Citizens of U.S for 9 years

What does the Vice President do
They break a tie breaker in the Supreme Court if there is a tie
What role does the senate have in the impeachment
They convinces as a court. Senates is the jury. The impeachment is official if the vote is 2/3
