Animal is instinct as human is learned
How does culture affect social behavior
Culture is a guid for humans social behavior is actions such as beliefs, values etc
How does heredity affect social behavior
Our personality trait is genetic but, personality traits, reflexes and drives do not control human social behavior
How are language and culture related
Language allows to pass along much of what we know or learned

To make people feel good about themselves and their group

So we don’t act the same if it were by instincts everyone would be the same

Folkways, mores,laws and taboos
Folkways- rules that are customary
Mores- norms has great significance
Laws- norms formally defined and enforced by officials
Taboos- norms that are strong violations
What is the difference between ideal and real culture
Ideal is a group that claims to do and wants to do
Real is the actual behavior that takes place
Group of people who live in a defined territory and participate in common culture
Society
