Chapter 3 Flashcards
Brachialis
O: anterior aspect of the humeral shaft I: coronoid process of ulna A: flexion of forearm N: musculocutaneous nerve *deep to the biceps brachii
Brachioradialis
O: lateral supra condylar ridge of the humerus
I: styloid process of the radius
A:flex elbow (shake hands) assist supination/pronation
N: radial nerve
Triceps brachii (3 origin)
Long head- infraglenoid tubercle of scap
Lateral head- posterior aspect of the shaft of the humerus (prox)
Medial head- posterior aspect of the shaft of humerus (distal)
Anconeus
O: lateral epicondyle of the humerus
I: olecranon process of the ulna
A: extension of the elbow
N: radial nerve
Pronator teres (o/I)
O: humeral head-medial epicondyle of humerus(common flexor tendon) ulnar head-coronoid process of ulna
I: lateral aspect of the shaft of radius
Pronator teres (a/n)
A: pronates the forearm and flexes elbow-assists in flexion of the elbow
N:median nerve
Pronator quadratus
O:distal 1/4 of ulna
I:distal 1/4 of radius
A:pronation of the forearm
N: median nerve
Supinator
O: lateral epicondyle of the humerus and proximal ulna
I:proximal anterior radius
A:supination of forearm
N:radial nerve
Biceps brachii
O: long head-supraglenoid tubercle of the scap Short head-Corocoid process of scap I: radial tuberosity A:shoulder-flexes arm Elbow-flex & assist in supination N: musculocutaneous nerve
