Economic equality
Close wage for every citizen
Public property
Schools, playgrounds, hospitals, churches.
Adherence to collective norms
Doing the same as the group.
Example: Mennonites, they all dress the same, speak the same language etc.
Cooperation
Working together as a group
Collective responsibility
Everyone gets in trouble for ones action
Collective interest
Thinking about the group before yourself. No selfish actions

People working together
Crown corporation
Corporation owned by Canadian federals to serve the common good. (Cops)
Crown Land
Government owned land, used for profit
Communism
Favours community instead of individual
Command economy (also knows as centrally planned economy)
Government controls supply and prices. (Soviet Union was an example of command economy)
Socialism
Belief that “PEACCC” should be the foundation for political, economic, and social life.

Thomas Hobbes
Believed people are driven by selfishness and greed. That freedom should be given up, and government would maintain order. Believed all people were naturally bad.
John Locke
Believed that government should only exist to protect rights of all citizens and that people are born good and can make good decisions.
Jean Rousseau
Believed government should be elected by the people, that both citizens and rulers have basic rights and that men are born good but society makes them bad.
