Sensitivity
The ability of a test to accurately identify a persons who have a disorder.
Validity
The degree to which an assessment instrument measures what it is supposed to
Test-Retest Validity
The degree to which performance on a test is repeatable
Standardization
The degree to which procedures for test administration/scoring are clearly specified
Reliability
The ability of a test to demonstrate stable performance over time
Specificity
The ability of a test to accurately identify persons who do not have a disorder
Criterion-Referenced Test
Type of test also referred to as mastery based testing or competency testing
Norm-referenced testing
A tests whose purpose is to determine whether individual’s performance differs enough from ‘typical’ performance to suggest the need for further investigation
Content Validity
Items selected for a test are appropriate for the language area being evaluated and assess the area thouroughly.
Interjudge reliability
Agreement of two examiners on the occurence and type of response by a client and the scoring of such
Mean
A measure of central tendency in which all scores are added and the total is divided by the number of scores; arithmetic average
z-score
a type of standard score
