IBC
International Building code
Provides the highest level of protection from fire spread and collapse. Remains structurally stable longer considered to be most collapse resistant. i.e. reinforced concrete precast concrete and protected steel
Type 1 Construction (Fire-Resistive)
Composed of materials that will not contribute to fire development or spread. Metal framing members metal cladding or concrete block wall construction and unprotected open web joists supporting metal roof decks
Type 2 construction (Noncombustible)
Found in mercantile, business, and residential structures and order schools requires exterior walls and structural members be constructed of noncombustible or limited combustible materials
Type 3 Construction (ordinary construction)
Use of large dimensioned lumber or laminated wood
Type 4 construction ( heavy timber)
Wood frame exterior load bearing walls are composed entirely of wood
Type 5 (wood frame)
Partially or completely built in factory and shipped to the location to be installed
Factory built homes
Almost completely prefabricated prior delivery and the least expensive usually have wheels and permanent steel undercarriage and are towed behind transport vehicle single wide to triple wide
Manufactured home
Steady decline in fires in manufactured homes
