Aerial
The circular area of dark pigmentation surrounding the breast nipple.
Blepharoplasty
A plastic surgery procedure that removes excess skin and/or fat in the upper or lower eyelids.
Breast implants
A procedure used to increase the size of the breasts using Synthetic material such as silicone or saline implants.
Circumareolar
Around the circumference of the areola.
Classic forehead lift
A lift technique Involving a cornal incision that follows a headphone-like pattern, slightly behind the natural hairline.
Closed rhinoplasty
Surgery of the nose involving internal incisions, which do not leave a visible scar.
Conjunctiva
The mucous membrane that lines the eyelids.
Deviated nasal septum
A condition in which the middle wall (septum) inside the nose deviates into the airway passages; it can cause problems with breathing through the nose.
Dorsum
The top profile of the nose
Electrocautery
The use of an electrical device to cut the skin or to seal blood vessels to control bleeding during surgery.
Endonasal
Of or pertaining to the inside of the nose.
Endoscopic
Describes a surgical technique in which a viewing instrument is used to allow the procedure to be done via numerous small incisions.

Areas of bone and mucosa projecting from the lateral walls of the nasal cavity that warm and humidify inhaled air; sometimes can cause nasal airway obstruction.
Nasolabial folds
The lines extending from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth.
Open rhinoplasty
Surgery of the nose involving an incision between the nostrils, which can leave a faint scar.
Pendulous breasts
Large, hanging breasts.
Periorbital fat
The fat supporting the upper and lower eyelids.
Photophobia
Excessive tearing due to light sensitivity
Reconstructive rhinoplasty
Surgery done correct or repair abnormal structures.
Rhytidectomy
A face-lift procedure that removes excess fat at the jawline; tightens loose, atrophic muscles; and removes sagging skin.
Submental
Below the mentalis, the area within the anatomic triangular margins of the mandible where the double chin resides.
Superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS)
A layer of tissue that covers the deeper structures in the cheek area and is in continuity with the superficial muscle covering the lower face and neck, called the platysma. Some face-lift techniques lift and reposition the SMAS as well as the skin.
Thread lift
A minimally invasive face-lift using special subcutaneous suspension sutures for subtle changes.
