Q

What’s the difference between mixture and compound ???

A

Mixture

  1. Consists of two or more substances
  2. The proportion of each substance in the mixture does not matter
  3. The properties are the same as those of the substances used
  4. Usually easy to separate

Compound

  1. Consists of a single substance
  2. The elements in a compound are always in a fixed position
  3. The properties are very different to those of the elements used
  4. Very difficult to separate

Q

What’s a chemical change ??

A

When you make something new that wasn’t there before
A new substance is always formed
Like burning iron and sulphur together to make iron sulphide it’s hard to separate and is a new substance
