Applicable only if the woman’s menstrual cycle is from 26-32 days.

Standard Days Method
A woman’s body temperature rises during ovulation.
Temperature Method

after ovulation: 36.1°C - 37.2°C
It helps track changes in color, texture, and amount of cervical mucus.

a.k.a cervical mucus method
It consists of cervical fluid, basal body temperature, and other biological signs.
Sympto-Thermal Method
It is a natural contraception that should be done every 4 hours during the day and 6 hours at night.

Made of soft silicon with spermicide.
- May be inserted upto 2 hours before intercourse
- Should be used no longer than 24 hours after intercourse
- Should remain in place at least 6 hours after intercourse
Reusable: needs reapplication of spermicide every sexual intercourse
Diaphragm
Effectivity: 88%
Made of silicon, shaped like a sailor hat.
- May be left upto 48 hours after intercourse

Cervical Cap
Effectiveness: 71-86%
It contains low dose of 2 hormones.
Hormones: Progestin and Estrogen
Pill
Combined Oral Contraceptives
Prevents pregnency when taken any time upto 5 days after unprotected sex.
Delays ovulation
Moring After Pill
It thickens the cervical mucus to block the sperm; may be given to breastfeed mothers; doesn’t raise blood pressure.

Hormones are absorbed through the wall of the vagina.

It is a copper-bearing IUD.
Intrauterine Device
ex. Levonorgestrel Intrauterine Device
A small flexible plastic, shaped like a rod.
It is placed under the skin of the upper arm and provides long-term contraception (3-7 years).
Implant
Male sterilization and male surgical contraception; closes off each vas deferens, keeping sperm out of semen.
Vasectomy
Femle sterilization; fallopian tube are blocked or cut.
