Injuries that result from an accident
Accidental injuries

Accident chain
Watching out for other people on the road and anticipating unsafe acts
Defensive driving

Tornado
Strong windstorm with driving rain that originates at sea.
Hurricane
Very heavy snow storm with winds up to 45 miles per hour

Violent shaking movement of the earths surface
Earthquake
Immediate temporary care given to an injured or Ill person until he or she can get professional help.
First aid
Actions taken to prevent the spread of disease by treating all blood as if it were contaminated.
Universal precautions
Condition in which the ligaments that hold the joints in position are stretched or torn
Sprain
A break in the bone
Fracture
Painful, involuntary muscle spasms that usually occur during strenuous exercise in hot weather.
Heat cramps
Characterized by faintness, nausea, rapid heartbeat and hot, red, dry, or sweaty skin.
Heat exhaustion
The most serious form of heat illness
Heatstroke
Quick upward pulls into the diaphragm to force out an obstruction blocking the airway.
