The outer layer of the sun’s atmosphere
Corona
A stream of electrically charged particles by the sun’s corona
Solar wind
The dark area of gas on the sun that is cooler then surrounding gases.
Sunspot
A loop of gas that protrudes from the sun’s surface linking parts of sunspot region
Prominence
An explosion of hydrogen gas from the sun’s surface occurs when loops in suspect regions suddenly connect
Solar flare
The name given to the four inner planets: mercury, Venus, earth, and mars
Terrestrial
The spinning motion of a planet from east to most planets and moons
Retrograde rotation
The trapping of heat by a planets atmosphere
Geeenhouse effect
The name given to the first four outer planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus. And Neptune
Gas giant
A ball of ice and dust whose orbit is a long narrow ellipse
Comet
Objects revolving around the sun that are too small and too numerous to be considered planets
Asteroid
The region of the solar system between the orbits of mats and Jupiter where there are many asteroids
Asteroid belt
A chunk of rock or dust in space
Meteroid
A streak in the sky produced by the burning of a meteroid in Earths atmosphere
Meteor
A meteoroid that has hit Earth’s surface
Meteorite
Life that exists outside of earth
