Regulatory sign
Signs that must be obeyed. The most important are stop and yield signs. Other signs are either white squares or rectangles with red or black lettering
Warning sign
It can help you avoid surprise situations.pst ate diamond shaped. Warning sons have black symbols or lettering on a yellow background
Guide sign
It marks routes, intersections, service areas, and other points of interest or information.
International sign
It coveys information with symbols rather than words. Drivers from other countries can understand the meaning of these signs.
Yield sign
To allow others to use the intersection before you do
Right of way
Means to accept the privilege of immediate use of the roadway
Traffic signals
Hey consist of traffic lights, arrows, flashing signals, lane signals, and pedestrian signals used to help traffic flow smoothly.
Green light
You can proceed when traffic is clear
Yellow (amber) light
Make every effort to stop safely for a yellow light. If too close, proceed with caution
Red light
You must come to a full stop behind the crosswalk, or before entering the intersection
Flashing red light
Make a full stop then proceed when traffic is clear
Flashing yellow light
Slow down and be prepared to stop at the traffic light
Traffic arrows
Traffic must flow in the direction that the green arrow is pointing
Pedestrian signals
It is used at an intersection with heavy traffic. Pedestrians should only cross at an intersection when the walk symbol is showed, and clear the intersection or wait on a don’t walk symbol
Officer’s signal
Given signals by an officer that must be obeyed, even of the signals contradict the traffic sign
Yellow line
Separates two way traffic. Also means a driver may pass only when no traffic is coming from the opposite. When solid, crossing is prohibited
