Fertile Crescent
A dry region that is shaped like a crescent with rich that is suitable for farming. It is located between the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea in Southwest Asia.
Silt
A thick bed of mud that is rich soil. With this soil, farmers could plant and harvest huge amounts of wheat and barley.
Irrigation
A ditch that can carry water to fields to help produce a surplus of crops.
City-state
Different cities with the surrounding land made a city-state.
Dynasty
A bunch of rulers from a single family.
Cultural Diffusion
A new idea or product spreading to different cultures.
Polytheism
Believing in many gods.
Empire
Different people, nations, or independent states controlled by one ruler.
Hammurabi
The ruler of the Babylonian Empire.
