Rhythm
orderly flow of music through time
Beat
is a regular pulse found in music
Accent
an emphasis that is deliberately placed off the beat
Meter
the grouping of the beats (not the notes) turn into patterns
Measure
vertical lines are called bar lines, it indicated the pattern of beats on the line that enclose the bears in a patten.
Downbeat
a strongly stressed beat
Notes
Time signature
a pair of numbers that is placed at the beginning of a work or section that indicates the beats of the music
Syncopation
Happens either by adding the emphasis where it is not expected or by removing it from where it is expected
Tempo
is the speed of the beats
Accelerando
(tempo) accelerate or speed up
Ritardando
(tempo) retard or slow down
Polyrhythm
the several rhythms at the same time
Largo
Very slow, broad
Adagio
Slow, leisurely
