Found river and named after him and sailed north on river. Did not find path to Indea, so turned back.

Sent again and found bay (Hudson Bay), but though Pacific Ocean. Crew rebelled and put Hudson on boat.

Traveled Mississippi River, but flowed south into Gulf of Mexico rather than to Pacific Ocean, so turned back.
