Posteriori Argument
Is based on premises that can only be known through experience
Teleological Argument
the complexity and order of the natural world is evidence of an intelligent creator, or God
Theodicy
the vindication of divine goodness and providence in view of the existence of evil.
Agnostic
a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God
Priori Argument
Is based on premises that do not need to be experienced
Ontological Argument
attempts to prove the existence of God through a deductive process
Theist
a person who believes in a creator who intervenes in the universe
Evidentialism
one is justified to believe something if and only if that person has evidence which supports said belief.
Cosmological Argument
God exists because the universe exists
Argument from evil
the existence of evil is incompatible with the existence of God
Atheist
someone who does not believe in the existence of a god or gods
Person
A rational, independent being.
Universe
the entirety of space, time, and all of their contents, including all matter, energy, and structures
Cosmos
the universe seen as a well-ordered whole
Contingent
Things that are possible, or could be, but do not exist
