God offers choices
Deuteronomy 30:19
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”
Deuteronomy 28 provides details of these blessings and curses
- If they will only listen and obey
- By their disobedience, they will open themselves up to curses
- Many is these curses are diseases

Vilification
•Villain
•Thief comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10)
Curse is the abatement of the blessing
•lessening or reduction of a blessing
Summary
•The villain, Satan, comes to reduce or take away the strength of our blessing from God
•The curse is the work of the villain
•Vilification is when the villain vilifies our blessings
Curses can come because
We give the villain permission to wreak havoc in our lives
How do we give Satan permission to touch us?
By disobeying God and His word and obeying the law of sin instead
Paul’s war with sin
Romans 7
Paul confesses that there was a war within himself, with two laws battling for his soul: the law of God and the law of sin.
Law of God
God’s nature
- love

- forgiveness
- faithfulness
“Thy law is within my heart.”
Psalm 40:8
Law of Sin
- rebellion
- lawlessness
- falsehoods
- hatred
- murder
- evil
When you practice the law of sin after you know the law is God
You’re calling God’s ‘evil’ and Satan’s word ‘good’
What you don’t have to obey
- Fear
- Anger
- Lust
- Unforgiveness
You don’t have to obey anything that is not God’s nature.
Romans 6:6, 7
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
Romans 6:12
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
(You don’t have to obey: Unforgiveness, anger, fear, lust… anything that is not God’s nature and tries to get you to act in sin)
Ephesians 6:13
Let the enemy know your resolve
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
