Chapter 2 - Folding and Fold Mountains Flashcards
1
Q
How are fold mountains formed?
A
When two plates collide, the pressure from the plates slowly folds the earth’s crust into fold mountains. The crust is compressed and is buckled up to form mountains, similar to the way a sheet of paper folds when it is pushed from two sides.
