A collection of permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the U.S. federal government. Its 50 titles represent broad areas of interest that are governed by federal regulation. Each volume of the CFR is updated annually and issued on a quarterly basis.
Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
A post-incident meeting designed to assist rescue personnel in dealing with psychological trauma as the result of an emergency. (NFPA 1006)

A program designed to reduce acute and chronic effects of stress related to job functions
Critical incident stress management (CISM)
An employee-sponsored service designed for personal or family problems, including mental health, substance abuse, various addictions, marital problems, parenting problems, emotional problems, or financial or legal concerns. (NFPA 450)
Employee assistance programs (EAPs)
The dangerous practice of acting independently of command instructions
Freelancing
The U.S. federal agency that regulates worker safety and, in some cases, responder safety. OSHA is part of the U.S. Department of Labor.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
The deployment of an emergency service resource to an incident. (NFPA 901)
