Dorsal Cavity
Cavity located on the dorsal side of the body. It houses the organs of the upper central nervous system, including the brain and the spinal cord.
Spinal ( vertebral) Cavity
The space inside the spinal column containing the spinal cord
Pelvic Cavity
The space containing the urinary bladder, certain reproductive organs, parts of the large intestine, and the rectum.
Cranial Cavity
The space inside the skull, or cranium, containing the brain
Thoracic Cavity (Chest cavity)
The space containing the heart, lungs, esophagus, trachea, bronchi, and thymus
Ventral Cavity
the cavity that is in the anterior (front) aspect of the human body. It is made up of the thoracic cavity, and the abdominopelvic cavity.
Abdominal Cavity
The abdominal cavity contains the lowest portion of the esophagus, the stomach, intestines( excluding the rectum and the sigmoid colon), kidneys, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and ureters
Abdominopelvic Cavity
The abdominopelvic cavity is a body cavity that consists of the abdominal cavity and the pelvic cavity. It contains the stomach, liver, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys, and most of the small and large intestines. It also contains the urinary bladder and internal reproductive organs.
