16
Q

How do you control the temp in the aft cargo compartment?

A

Using the controls located on the overhead CARGO HEAT panel

17
Q

How do you control the temp in the forward cargo compartment?

A

You can’t. Only the aft is controllable

18
Q

How can you reference the temperature in the Aft Cargo compartment?

A

Reference the ECAM COND or CRUISE pages

19
Q

How many pressurization controllers are installed on the aircraft?

A

2

20
Q

How do you know which pressurization controller is currently active?

A

Designated as SYS 1 or SYS 2. It will be displayed on the ECAM CAB PRESS page.

21
Q

When will the pressurization controllers switch to the standby controller?

A

Automatically, shortly after landing or should the active fail.

Manually, by placing the MODE SEL push button to MAN for 10 secs and then returning it to AUTO (lights out mode)

22
Q

How does the LDG ELEV selector work when selected to the AUTO detent?

A

AUTO detect position allows the FMGCs to automatically provide the pressurization system with landing field elevation.

23
Q

How does the LDG ELEV selector work when selected outside of the AUTO detent?

A

Landing field elevation is set manually by selecting the appropriate elevation. (Displayed in thousands, not hundreds)

24
Q

When do you manually select the landing field elevation?

A

When BOTH FMGCs have failed or if the airport is not in the FMS database.

25
Q

Manual pressurization controls:

What happens when you press the MODE SEL push button?

A

Enables use of the MAN V/S CTL toggle switch to manually control the outflow valve.

and

Deactivates the AUTO pressurization mode.

26
Q

Manual pressurization controls:

How does the MAN V/S CTL toggle switch work?

A

UP commands the outflow valve to open, raising the cabin alt, decreasing differential.

DN commands the outflow valve to close, lowering the cabin alt, increasing differential

27
Q

How do you obtain information about the pressurization system?

A

System performance can be monitored on either the CAB PRESS or CRUISE page

28
Q

Does the crew need to reset the landing field elevation of returning to the departure airport after takeoff?

A

No. ABORT mode will automatically return the cabin to match the departure airport’s field elevation.

29
Q

What happens when the crew presses the DITCHING push button to ON?

A

The outflow valve will close (if MODE SEL push button is in AUTO

Emergency Ram air inlet will close

Avionics ventilation inlet valve will close

Avionics ventilation extract valve will close

Pack control valves will close.

30
Q

Which valves are located below the airplane’s float line?

A
Outflow valve
Ram air inlet
Avionics ventilation inlet
Avionics ventilation extract
Pack flow control valves
31
Q

Which configuration requires pilot action in order to vent smoke within the avionics compartment overboard?

A

The AVIONICS SMOKE configuration

32
Q

How does the crew remove smoke from the avionics compartment?

A

By pressing both BLOWER and EXTRACT push buttons.

33
Q

What happens when the crew presses both BLOWER and EXTRACT push buttons.

A

It allows additional air from the air conditioning system to enter the compartment which forces all air within the compartment overboard.

34
Q

What does the amber FAULT indicate on both BLOWER and EXTRACT push buttons.

A

FAULT appears as the result of smoke being detected in the avionics compartment.
